Negative Space Nails were first spotted on the runways in 2014 and they are still trending for Spring 2017. Seen all over the runway once again at NYFW Spring 2017 designers including Vera Wang, Proenza Schouler, Rodarte, Opening Ceremony, Novis and Creatures of Comfort were showing it proving that negative space nails are still going strong. No base color is necessary for this look. The bare nail exposed underneath creates a floating effect on the nail. Negative Space Nails look fresh and stylish. I love negative space in art and I fell with it on the nails too. The technique translates brilliantly to mani’s. I’ve always been a fan of the minimalist looks (even with makeup). In fact, the single dot instead of a half moon may be my favorite nail look right now. Not all are as minimalist as this however. The detailed designs here are pretty awesome. Take a look, I curated the 7 coolest negative space nails on Tumblr.
