We shot this cover at a beautiful home in the Malibu hills. The owner of the home also owned a pink Cadillac that once belonged to Marilyn Monroe. It was spectacular. That day I also got to meet Lucy Danziger, Editor-in-Chief of Self. I instantly loved her. I did her makeup for the shot with Jillian and I was thrilled she trusted me enough to do it. Meeting her was definitely a highlight for me.
Normally I green beauty looks that I did not create to show you that you can achieve any look with non-toxic makeup. But since Jillian is on the cover of Self this month I wanted to show you how I achieved her glowing natural look with the help of Organic Glam whom sponsored me for the shoot.
I started off with Foundation. I mixed #4, #5 and #6. For shoots I make her skin about 3 shades darker to match her body if she is tan if not, I tan her body as well. Next, I concealed under the eyes and around the nose with Concealer in Medium using one shade lighter than the foundation. I gently press on Warm Gold Liquid Shimmer Highlighter on they eye (top, bottom and all around they eye), on top of the cheek bone and wrap it around the top of the brow to illuminate the face and eyes. I set the finish with a light dusting of Golden Bronze Bronzer.
Using the Nude Brown Eye Shadow Palette I enhance the crease of the eye with the taupe color and apply the brown to the outer corners and the lower lash line to create a tight liner. Next, I line the top lash line with the Liquid Liner in Black keeping the line thin and hugging the lashes closely. I add Light Gold Mineral Eye Shimmer to the inner corners of the eye and lower lash line (over the brown liner). I curl the lashes and add three coats of Black Mascara.
