Sound Boring? I don't think so. I use Tarte, Josie Maran, and Alison Raffaele. Believe it or not—they're green. I use eco-friendly cosmetics and I steer clear of the big chemical offenders such as parabens and petrochemicals. My brand of beauty is chemically safe and eco conscious with respect to the individual and environment. I call it Smart Beauty.
Green kit
In January 2008, I created an entirely green makeup kit. I work with chemically safe and eco friendly cosmetics. I am committed to using the highest quality of environmentally kind products without sacrificing an ounce of beauty or taste. My kit boasts products that are "ECOCERT certified, biodegradable, bioavailable, recyclable, sustainable, compost able, cruelty free, safe, non-toxic, certified organic, and natural." I prefer to work with companies that have signed the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics Compact (CSC)—a pledge to make safer products and provide greater transparency to consumers about their products. Companies who sign the compact must be compliant with the formulation standards of the European Union (EU) Cosmetics Directive. This means that all their products sold worldwide must be free of over 1,100 toxic ingredients that are known or strongly suspected to be carcinogens, mutagens and reproductive toxins from personal care products.
